01Engagement

This agreement is between you (the vehicle owner) and West London Car Storage Ltd, registered at Latimer Road, W10 (referred to here as "WLCS", "we" or "us").

The agreement starts when you sign our onboarding paperwork on first arrival at the facility, at which point we take the vehicle into our care. Everything in this document applies from that moment until the vehicle is returned to you.

Where this document and the signed onboarding paperwork disagree, the onboarding paperwork wins.

02Storage period

The minimum stay is one calendar month from the date of arrival. We do not offer shorter terms; the way we care for vehicles only really earns its keep over weeks rather than days.

After the first month, the agreement runs on a weekly rolling basis. Either party may end it with one week's written notice, taking effect at the end of the current weekly cycle.

03Fees

Storage is charged at £175 per week, plus VAT, covering one vehicle in one bay, with all standard care included (see section 04).

Invoices are issued monthly in advance and collected by direct debit. The first month's fees, together with any agreed collection or delivery charge, are due before the vehicle enters the facility.

Late payment may, after two written reminders, suspend access to the vehicle until the account is settled. We would always rather talk than do this — please get in touch if anything changes for you.

04Care included

The weekly fee covers everything in our standard care routine: climate-controlled storage, continuous trickle charging, scheduled engine start-ups, tyre-pressure checks, fluid inspections, and a return clean before the vehicle is handed back.

Each of these is recorded against your vehicle in its own log, which is available to you on request and is summarised on collection.

05Vehicle insurance

You must maintain your own comprehensive vehicle insurance throughout the storage period, with cover appropriate for the value of the vehicle and the way it is being kept. WLCS does not insure individual vehicles.

This is standard across boutique storage in the UK, and there are two reasons for it. First, owners almost always have a more favourable existing policy than a blanket facility policy could offer. Second, your policy follows the vehicle when it leaves us — on a collection, a service trip, or a weekend out — which a facility policy would not.

We carry our own public liability and goods-in-trust cover for the facility itself; details available on request.

06Liability

We are responsible for any loss or damage caused by our negligence in carrying out our care of the vehicle — that is what you are paying us for, and we stand behind it.

We are not liable for loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control: extreme weather, flood, fire not originating on site, act of war, terrorism, or any cause that your own vehicle insurance would normally cover. We are also not liable for items left in the vehicle unless they have been formally entered into our document storage.

Our maximum aggregate liability under this agreement, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, is limited to the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the relevant event.

07Access

The facility is staffed twenty-four hours a day, every day. You are welcome to visit your vehicle at any time, by prior arrangement — typically the same day, often within the hour during office hours.

You may, optionally, hold a spare key with us so that we can move the vehicle for cleaning, mechanical attention, or your own scheduled collection. Keys are kept in a numbered safe and signed in and out against the vehicle log.

If you would prefer, V5 documents, service history and instruction manuals may be stored alongside the vehicle in our document cabinet.

08Modifications during storage

If you would like work carried out on the vehicle during its stay — a service, a small fix, paint correction, anything similar — we are happy to coordinate with the specialist of your choice. We will arrange collection and return, supervise their access to the bay, and re-enter the vehicle into the care routine afterwards.

If you do not have a preferred specialist, our partner detailer and a small panel of trusted independents are available; we will quote separately for the work and never add a margin onto their invoice without telling you.

09Termination

After the first month, either side may end the agreement by giving one week's written notice (email is fine). On termination:

  1. We issue a final invoice covering any unbilled days, plus the agreed collection or delivery charge if applicable.
  2. The vehicle is returned in the same condition it arrived, subject to fair wear and tear and the documented log of work carried out during the stay.
  3. All keys, documents and personal items are handed back, signed off against the onboarding paperwork.

We may end the agreement earlier in cases of unpaid fees, falsified ownership or insurance information, or if the vehicle cannot safely be stored in our facility (for example, a fluid leak that cannot be remedied). We would always raise these directly with you first.

10Disputes

This agreement is governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before any formal step is taken, we would always ask that you raise the matter with us directly so we can discuss it. If that does not resolve things, we are willing to enter mediation through a recognised provider before either side commences proceedings.

11Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to current customers in writing — by email and by an updated date stamp on this page — at least thirty days before they take effect.

If you are unhappy with a change, you may end the agreement under the standard one-week notice in section 09 before the new terms come into force.

These terms are a fair starting point, written in the spirit of a custodial relationship rather than a defensive one. They are not legal advice. We expect — and recommend — that owners review them with their own solicitor before signing the onboarding paperwork on first arrival.
